My client, a Global Logistics company, is looking to recruit a Procurement Manager. The successful candidate will manage Commercial Procurement, with responsibility for haulier performance levels, maintenance of inbound pricing database and business improvement.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Experience in pricing negotiations
  • Understanding of global freight forwarding market
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • A genuine commitment to service delivery
  • Excellent arbitration and strong leadership skills
  • Ability to analyse and understand financial indicators to assist in making business decisions
  • Planning and prioritising effectively to meet agreed goals
  • Working knowledge of QRS
  • Working knowledge of FLOW
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Daily management of supplier performance levels and KPI reporting
  • Agree and implement service level agreements with key suppliers
  • Support General Manager in freight negotiations with supply partners
  • Spot buying from freight partners where required
  • Trade-lane supply & demand analysis and market trends understanding
  • Identifying potential new haulage partners
  • Continuous Improvement of department processes and ways of working
  • Promote efficiency and profitability by encouraging and facilitating a climate of best practice and quality throughout the department
  • Translate agreed objectives and priorities into clear plans for self and others
  • Actively promote and maintain Group culture, style and standards within the company
