Dry humour and deliberately low production values are the central features of a recruitment and attraction video by social network Twitter. The video, which was first uploaded a couple of years ago, gave cause to revisit as it has continued to be viewed and given a refreshing approach to recruitment.
The approach of enthusiastic workers at the global company and continued comedy throughout has given people a more understandable view of the work place, with many saying ‘it would actually be so great to work there’ after watching the 3 minute video. These attitudes are an indication that the ‘At Twitter, The Future is You!’ Video is something other businesses that are recruiting should try. Social media is a very powerful tool. @Jointheflock is a clever and witty phrase used for Twitter’s recruitment.
While touting itself as a deliberate attempt at being bad, and showing exactly what a recruitment video should not do, the filming in California has attracted over 1m views; it’s so bad it’s good. Go figure, as they might say that side of the Atlantic.
